This is my personal website. The views expressed here are my personal views, not those of the Atlantis open source development Crew. This site, which is coded by hand and frames free, contains valid HTML and thus should be viewable with any browser, including Lynx. Some parts are written in Perl. This website doesn't relay on any non-valid standards which may require proprietary plugins, like Flash. This website is coded with the KISS principle in mind. If you experience any problems using this site, please let me know. Links to Norwegian sites are marked with "(Norwegian)". A light version of this website is also available, written in WML for WAP-browsers. You may want to take a look at the introduction to this site.
UNIX turns 40 years old this year. Happy birthday! Read more... Besides, I've been using UNIX-like systems since 1999 (mostly Slackware Linux). That's 10 years. :)

I like to write/read fiction (poems, short stories and novels, mostly related to crime/horror/fantasy/drama) and facts (e.g. psychology, philosophy, religion, art, culture, politics, local history and mythology).
I'm into Japanese martial arts as well. I was training Judo for several years, now I am training Shotokan Karate-do in the dojo of Lura Karateklubb (Norwegian). I'm a 8. kyu (Hachikyu). View a picture of me in my gi (40KB).

My favorite TV-series is The X-Files, The 4400, Roswell and Band of Brothers.
I like beer (mostly british stout) and whisk(e)y (mostly scottish and irish). I especially prefer scottish single malt whisky from the following regions: Highland, Islay and Speyside. Occationaly I drink cognac, gin, mead, sherry, vodka and wine as well, although I tend to prefer beer and whisk(e)y. I'm trying to drink responsibly (with various degree of success).
I like numerous pipe-tobaccos, but I tend to prefer Amphora and MacBaren. Usually I don't smoke cigarettes, but I like the taste of Lucky Strike and Camel. Note however that I don't use illegal substances.
Other activities that I find enjoyable includes walking in the forest, swimming in fresh water (not in the ocean), playing chess (I own four different chess-boards), shooting (I own an airgun (132m/s) and an MP-40 machine gun in softgun-format), and probably a lot more.
The following are mentioned because of my fascination/obsession: Animals with silly walks (e.g. penguins, crabs and turtles), watching people arguing - or watching people in love with each other, a dry sense of humor, people with comb overs, paintings/pictures/drawings of desolated and/or abandoded places/people, numbers (e.g. the binary and hexadecimal numeral systems), colors (e.g. black and green) and shapes (e.g. pentagrams, hexagrams and octagrams).
