2009/04/01: "In Nomine Patre et Filii et Spiritus Sancti" is now
released. I did some modifications, as expected, so the total running
time is about six minutes. The shortest demo I've ever done. Critical
opinions are more than welcome. This is not an april fools day
joke. "Enjoy".
2009/03/24: My 13th demo-album is completed. But in any case I would
like to do some changes - it will not be released yet. The title for the
demo is "In Nomine Patre et Filii et Spiritus Sancti". By the way, this
is the shortest demo I've ever made. Total running time currently is
under seven minutes.
2009/01/27: It's been a month since the last update, but now I
actually got something to reveal. My 12th demo-album, the first of
2009, is now released. The title is "Alienated". I'v gotten some help
with the lyrics this time (on "Tired"), thanks a lot to Ingvild Winther
Nylehn Portaasen!
2008/11/26: Ad infinitum is dead. Long live Ad infinitvm!
2008/11/24: I have more or less completed my 12th demo-album. The only
things left to do is recording of vocals and some mixing. I can reveal
two of the titles on the demo; "Alienated" and "Tired". The lyrics on
"Tired" is actually a poem a friend of mine wrote recently, in which I
like very much. Release-date is set to somewhere in January/February
2009. Stay tuned for total noise attack!
2008/11/06: My 11th demo-album is released. It contains three tracks,
with an instrumental intro. The lyrical themes deal with sadness, death
and darkness. At first, I planed to release the intro as two tracks; one
with vocals, and one without. The title would then be "Funeral Techno".
But then again, that wasn't what I wanted. I was then thinking of
throwing it away, and never use it for any purpose at all. But now I
clearly can see that it fits as an intro for this demo-album. The title
is "Dark Funeral", and is sort of a tribute to the swedish black metal
band with the same name. See the Works-section for
information about how to download it.
Announcement! During December, I will release my first EP
ever, on a very limited CD-version. (Limited to 21 copies.) Preorders are accepted,
and will cost 50NOK. I will not ship outside of Norway. The title is
"Funeral Techno", and contains the following three tracks:
"The Plague" (08:55)
"My End" (11:24)
"Når Sjelen Slipper Taket" (14:28)
If you are interested, you can, as I stated above, order it
already. Please send your address to me at adinfinitum@atlantiscrew.net
, and I will give you my bank account number.
2008/10/01: I've now completed my #10 demo-album. This is dark
ambient, so don't expect total noise like I've done before. I wanted to
try something different this time. Doing the same thing over and over
again isn't my way of doing things. Love it or hate it, I give you "Når
Sjelen Slipper Taket"!
2008/09/20: I've added a new profile-picture, and a "pictures"-section
as well, with some promo-pictures (thanks to GIMP).
2008/09/11: One night, I was sitting up late, couldn't sleep (as far
as I can remember), I took my external keyboard. Played some tunes.
Recorded it. The result became very strange to me, but still, I want to
keep it as it is. The only thing left to do now is recording of vocals.
This is dark ambient. I expect to release it during October.
And, by the way, I've done some other changes to
this website, like adding my artist name - "Sorgfull" ("Sorrowful").
2008/09/04: My #9 demo, with the title "Darkness Within Darkness", is
now released! I've been working on this for a long time, and I'm pretty
satisfied with the result. This demo is somewhat more melodic than my
earlier demoes, but hopefully there's one or two individuals out there
who likes it. See the "Works"-section for information on how to
download it. "Enjoy".
2008/09/02: My #9 demo is about to be released. The title is "Darkness
Within Darkness". I've been working on this for quite some time now. And
it's starting to get ready. Expect noise, and nothing but noise. In
fact, the intro to this demo is nothing but 40 seconds of background
noise. I have discovered that the most noisy moments is when it's all
quiet. That's the ultimate noise. Stay tuned for the darkness within
darkness...
2008/07/01: A new demo is now released (my 8th). It only took me about
a few weeks to create it, so take it for what it is. I'm pretty
satisfied myself, but you may dislike it though. Remember that this is
total noise. I'm still searching for the ultimate noise. Feels like I'm
getting closer and closer. The demo - titled "Bibamus, Moriendum est" -
contains two tracks, one instrumental, and one with vocals. This is the
last of two demo's which is almost entirely based on my
external keyboard. "Enjoy".
2008/06/11: My seventh demo-album is now ready for release. In fact,
I've used keyboard entirely on both tracks (plus some fast drums on the
first track). I've used SoundTracker, Songs and Audacity to create this
demo, including a microphone to record vocals. The title is "Northern
Lights", and includes two tracks. Total running time is around 11
minutes. And, as usual - I hope you dislike this demo as much as I do.
2008/06/05: I'm doing good progress with my new demo-album. This will
be totaly different from all what I've done before. The only things left
to do now is the hardest part; recording vocals and mixing.
2008/02/25: I've been institutionalized for a while due to my mental disorders,
so that's why this demo became somewhat delayed. But now it's here. I hope, as
usual, that you will dislike the result as much as I do. This new demo contains
two new tracks, "Genesis" and "Revelation". The title for the demo is
"Revelation". See the works-section for details. Now, I will
put this project on hold for the time being, but I will probably be back around
summer-time this year. Stay tuned.
2008/01/21: I've completed the two tracks for my sixth demo-album, except
vocals. I expect to release this demo during spring-time this year. It's still
noise, ugly and crappy...
2008/01/15: Lately, I've received a lot of criticism for my noise-music. I just
wanted to make a statement: THIS IS NOISE AND NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYONE, BUT MAYBE
FOR A VERY FEW INDIVIDUALS. How can it be so hard to understand? Download it, hate
it, delete it, and call it crap. That's exacly what I want you to do. I create
noise I like to listen to myself. So. That's it. Thanks.
2008/01/03: This is a compilation of all my works from early 2006 to early
2008, with two new tracks. The title is "Black Necrotic Funeral Techno", for both
the compilation and the new demo containing the two new tracks.
1. De profundis clamo ad te Domine
2. Øtt glimt av mennesgøhedøn
3. Black Necrotic Funeral Techno New
4. The Second Approach, Part 1
5. Hymns From the Deepest Dark Chambers New
6. The Plague, Part 1
7. Tebagø te mitt univærs
8. The Plague, Part 2
9. Beati pauperes spiritu
10. The Second Approach, Part 2
A CD-version will perhaps be released as times goes by.
2007/12/04: There will be a release of a complete "album" through the internet
early 2008. It will not be available on CD or any other formats for the time
being. This will includes two new tracks, and tracks from my older demos. The
title will be "Black Necrotic Funeral Techno", and not "Hymns From the Deepest
Dark Chambers".
The track listing will probably be as follows:
1. Black Necrotic Funeral Techno
2. Hymns From the Deepest Dark Chambers
Bonus tracks:
3. Øtt Glimt Av Mennesgøhedøn
4. De Profundis Clamo Ad Te Domine
5. The Second Approach, Part 1
6. The Second Approach, Part 2
7. The Plague, Part 1
8. The Plague, Part 2
Total running time is around 40 minutes.
Front cover is already in progress. Stay tuned.
2007/11/19: Newsflash: There will be no limited CD-version of the noise
I've created, maybe once in the future, but not for now. It just takes to much to
do it. After all, this is underground noise, and that's the way I like to keep
it. There may be one demo-album, once in the future, which contains a demo with a
"best of"-songs. Only time will tell.
The second track for the "Hymns From the Deepest Dark Chambers"-demo is
completed. But there's still more work left to do. I can reveal that the
cover song I'm going to do is Von - "Satanic Blood". This will be the third track
on this underground demo. Stay tuned. You will be disapointed. This is,
after all, underground total chaos.
2007/10/22: I've nearly completed the second track, with only vocals left to do.
But still, doing vocals is perhaps the most painful part in creating the noise I
make. I have no plans of releasing this demo before early 2008.
Other newsflash: I'm thinking of doing a cover version of a song by a black
metal band (yes - I know which band, and which song, but currently this remains
as my little secret).
I'm also thinking about making a limited CD-version of all the noise I've
created the last two years. If this is going to happend, it will be a
underground self-release.
2007/10/18: I've actually completed the first track for my fifth demo-album. I
can promise that this is total noise. The title for this track is (at least for
now) "Black Necrotic Funeral Techno". I still have one track left to
complete, so don't expect any release before early
2008.
2007/08/22: I've begun thinking on what's supposed to be the next demo. So far,
the title will be "Hymns From the Deepest Dark Chambers". I will use some more
keyboards on this demo, but don't worry; you're going to dislike it.
2007/06/27: There's no more reasons to wait. My forth demo-album, the second of
2007, is now ready for release. In fact, this is one song divided into two tracks. Total
running time is 8m54s. As ususal, I hope you dislike the result as much as I do. See the
works section for information about how to download it.
The lyrics covers themes like sadness, death, necrophilia, nihilism and misanthropy.
Hate mail can be sent to adinfinitum@atlantiscrew.net.
2007/06/11: The demo is so to speak completed, with lyrics, vocals, mixing and everything,
but the release date is still set to autumn this year because "The Second Approach" was
just relased, and because I might still want to do some more mixing. This is perhaps the
most noisy demo I've ever made.
2007/06/08: "The Plague" is in fact almost completed. The only things left to do are
recording vocals for both tracks and finishing the lyrics. Still, release date is set to
autmn this year, because I want to spend some time working on the vocals. I'm quite
satisfied with the sound on this demo, it will definitely be noisy. As usual, expect
something of the worst you've ever heard.
2007/06/06: I've begun working on my forth demo-album, the second of the year 2007. So
far I've nearly completed the first track. The title for this demo will probably be "The
Plague". As you can see the lyrics will continue to be in english. Don't except this demo to
be released until autumn this year.
2007/05/25: Finaly, my third demo - "The Second Approach" - is completed, the first of the
year 2007.
Please read the lyrics, which is very important to me. I have a message to you human
beings. As usual, I hope you dislike the result as much as I do. And, of course, it's
available for free in the works-section.
The lyrics covers themes like social alienation, misanthropy, xenophobia, eternity, and
more. I hope you will find the lyrics interesting. It took me a long time to write the
lyrics this time, perhaps because it's my first demo with lyrics in english.
Hate mail can be sent to adinfinitum@atlantiscrew.net.
2007/04/16: Things are going real slow, not had much of motivation lately. Anyway, there's
not much yet to do, so I hope to release this demo during May.
2007/03/19: This time I will work very hard with getting the vocals the way I want to.
It's not easy at all, but I will try to do something different, but don't worry, it's still
very raw. I've completed vocals for the first track already. I've also completed the
creation of the cover which will represent this demo. I can reveal that an octagram
plays an important role on this demo, which will be seen on the cover as well.
2007/03/14: I've now completed the second track for the new demo-album (again, except
vocals). The vocals will be added in a few weeks, and then I'm going to mix it all so I get
the sound I want. Release date is not set, but I expect it to be released during spring
this year.
2007/03/03: I've now completed the first track for the new demo-album (except vocals). I'm
not quite sure which title I'm going to use, so I maybe just call it "Part I" and the second
track "Part II", and so on. This will, as the first demo, be a concept-album, so using these
track-titles makes some sense. I have added a picture of me to this site, which will
represent me as a musician for some time for this project. Thanks to Ståle Skjæveland for
taking the photography.
2007/02/27: I have just started working on my third demo-album, the first one of the year
2007. Most of the lyrics are already written, and I can reveal that this demo will be a
follow-up to the "Besøg from dæ ytrø romm"-demo. The "Jæderen"-demo was just to do
something different. The demo-title will probably be "The Second Approach". As you may have
guessed, the lyrics now are in english. This is by no means a commercial attempt, it just
suits the noise better. Expect the unexpected.
2006/12/09: The "Jæderen"-demo, the second demo of this year, is now completed. It
concists of two tracks, and total running time is about 15 minutes. See the
works-section for information on how to download it. I hope you dislike the result as
much as I do.
The lyrical themes on "Jæderen" mainly focuses on local history and is sort of a
tribute to the area I live in, but themes like suicide, religious frustration and critism
of religious fundamentalism are also present. The lyrics are still in a local norwegian
dialect; "jærsk".
Thanks to Stian Clementsen for permission to use
one of his photographies of Jæren as front cover. It should be noted, as usual, that the
demo will only be available through the internet. Still, I have a front cover, mainly
because it's a picture that represent the music, and also because some people use a music
playing program on their computer which supports display of front cover while playing
the related tracks.
Hate mail can be sent to adinfinitum@atlantiscrew.net.
The Ad infinitum project will continue, but I will focus on other projects for a few
months now. The noise never ends. Even the most silent moments can be noisy and disturbing.
2006/11/28: For various reasons I have to record the vocals all over again (the main
reason being that I wasn't satisfied with the vocals as it was), which means that the
release date for "Jæderen" has been delayed to December (the plan was to release it during
November).
2006/11/02: This is probably the last news update before I'm releasing the second
2006-demo, titled "Jæderen", on the internet. The only things left to do are recording
vocals for the second track and some mixing. I expect to release it during November.
2006/10/21: Statement regarding offers to sell my music: I've received a few e-mails from
various record labels and groups within the music indistry, with offers to sell my music
through their website. My answer is, what it's always been: Ad infinitum is a non-commercial
and personal project! I will never sell my music, and why would people pay for this
shit-crap-ugly-noise music (which I make in my own livingroom using very limited equipment)
anyway? Please stop the offers/spam. You will hereafter be ignored and deleted from my inbox
imidiatly.
If you don't understand the message above, please look carefully on the picture below. I
think the message eventually will be revelead to you,
loud and clear.
"Thanks."
2006/09/07: It seems like I'm doing good progress with the "Jæderen"-demo. The upcoming demo
will, as the previous one, have two tracks. I've nearly completed one of the tracks (except
recording of vocals), and I have a lot of ideas for the other one. I don't have a strict
schedule to deal with, so I think I'll manage to release the demo at the end of the year.
2006/08/19: It's been a while since my last update, so here goes: I'm working on my second
demo. Currently it has the title "Jæderen", which is an old word for the area I live in. I will
use more time on this demo than I did on the previous one, so I hope that this one will be
somewhat better. I still make ugly noise music. Expect something of the worst noise you've
ever heard. Ad infinitum is still, and will always be, a non-commercial project, so all my
music will eventually become available for free download.
2006/05/18: Although I personally prefer Ogg Vorbis - the "Besøg frå dæ ytrø romm"-demo will not be available in that format
on this page anymore. Please contact me via e-mail if you would like me to send the demo to you in Ogg Vorbis-format. The demo is still
available for download in Mp3-format, see the works-section for more information.
2006/05/12: Both tracks from the "Besøg frå dæ ytrø romm"-demo are now available for download at my Urørt page, in Mp3-format.
2006/05/01: I'm now finished with my first demo ever, it's titled "Besøg frå dæ ytrø romm". Both tracks from this demo are available for
download from the works-section on this page in ogg vorbis format (mp3's may eventually become available through
my Urørt-page). It will not be available on CD or any other formats. This is not a
commercial project! Keep in mind that this is _noise_ and more like anti-music than music, I think very few individuals can enjoy this music -
if anyone at all. Please feel free to contact me if you have comments or questions.
2006/04/19: I haven't had much motivation to make noise the last period of time because I've been somewhat sick for a time now. Anyway, I'm
now finished with the first track, and when it comes to the second track - I only have to record and mix some vocals for it. I expect to
complete this demo very soon, and that it will be released on the internet early in May. In addition, you're welcome to listen to a rough-mix
(pre-release) version of the first track from this demo titled "Øtt glimt av mennesgøhedøn" from the works-section on
this page.
2006/03/24: I will hereby reveal some information about the upcoming demo, as I'm getting closer to complete it. The demo will have the
title "Besøg frå dæ ytrø romm" (Visit from outer space). The albumtitle, songtitles and lyrics (all written by me) used on this demo are in a
dialect called "jærsk", only spoken by a few tousands living in an area called Jæren on the
south-west of Norway (where I have lived for the most part of my life). The lyrics covers
themes like misanthropy, loneliness, depression, desolation and suicide. The demo will have two tracks, and the story will start on the first
track and end on the second track. In other words: This demo is based on a concept. The two tracks will have the following titles: 1."Øtt
glimt av mennesgøhedøn" (A glimpse of humanity) and 2. "Tebagø te mitt univærs" (Back to my universe). The first track is very fast and raw,
and the second track will be more progressive and experimental, but also fast and raw. Total running time of the demo will be around 10-15 minutes.
2006/02/20: I have now started the making of the first demo, which hopefully will be finished in about 1-2 months.
Edit: Ad infinitum now has a profile at Urørt. I also have a personal profile at Urørt.
