Title : A note about religion and philosophy. Date : 12 June 2005 Updated : 05 August 2009 Author : Stian Skjæveland Thanks : Thanks to Kjetil Nes for some help with this document. I am a christian, by which I mean that I belive in God, Jesus Christ and The Holy Ghost. I pray to God, and I also belive that what's written in The Holy Bible is - in many senses - true. As you may noticed; I wrote "in many senses". That's what I will try to explain a bit here. There should be no doubt that I am a christian. Still I admit that in many periods of my life, I find it very hard to believe in the given dogmas. I'm a (small) philosopher, and have many concerns with and critiques of a lot of conventional christian morals, etc. That - in some senses - makes me an agnostic. I'm also a very depressed (1) human being, thus often gives me a quite nihilistic point of view. I don't think any of this makes me a "less of a christian" human being, but it may make me an unconventional christian human being: an agnostic nihilistic non-charismatic non-fundamentalistic christian human being. Maybe, after all, that's not as unconventional as I think. References: ----------- 1) See doc/biography.txt for more information on this subject.End of file /doc/relphilexp.txt.
