Welcome to The definition of /dev/null - an introduction to chudo

Fun stuff / chudo

What is chudo, you may ask. Well, the true story is that we're (yes, there's more than one chudo master) defined it 10 December 2011, right in my livingroom.

There's two degrees in chudo: 10. kyu and 10. dan. Nothing in between. This means that all chudo-practisisers will have 10. kyu in the beginning before graduation. No gi/suit is required, but we would like to stress that is a good idea to be topless, women included.

chudo is sort of martial arts that has origins from Norway, but it's highly inspired by other countries and styles. For example, "chudo" could be "chu-do" from japanase "chudan" - meaning in the center of the body, and "do" because... Well you know, Karate-do, Judo, TaeKwonDo, etc.

There's currently only one tecnique used in chudo. This goes for kihon, kata and kumite. And the name of this tecnique is, as you may could guess, named after the art: chudo. In kihon you do the tecnique one time, and in kata tre or five times. In kumite you have to perform this tecnique till the other one gives up and loses.

Here's a picture of chudo, a drawing I, Stian, 10. dan and master of chudo, have drawn (look below the image for explanation):

This is the kihon and kata part that A is practising (one time in kihon, three-five times in kata):

chudo kihon and kata

As said before, there's only one tecnique used, and that is to jump and strike aganinst the center of a/the body. Imagine how you can knock down enemies like in kumite shown here, where A and B attacks each other!

chudo kihon and kata

There's not many who practise this martial art, thus we have no dojo, but a carpet would be helpfull, especially when going kata or kumite.
