Basic information -------------------- Cable internet/modem: OC-3 1200/256kbit, provided by JKN (1). D-Link Switch. Server (stunix): AMD Duron 850MHz, 256MB RAM, 1x40GB HDD. OS: Linux 2.6/Slackware 12.0. Services: SSH, NAT/firewall, DHCP, HTTP, and more. Workstation 1 (xasthur) AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2,2GHz, 2048MB RAM, 1x250GB HDD, 1x120GB USB-HDD. OS: Linux 2.6/Slamd64. Workstation 2 (king) Intel Celeron 333MHz, 192MB RAM, 2x10GB HDD. OS: OpenBSD 4.1. Laptop (kittelsen) (2): Intel Pentium M 1,3GHz, 256MB RAM, 1x40GB HDD, OS: Linux 2.6/Slackware 12.0. It should also be noted that the switch I am currently using (as a temporary solution) will be replaced with a larger one (possibly a Linksys 8/16 ports). 3. Purposes ----------- The computers in my network serves different purposes. Server (stunix): Optimized for secure/stable kernel and software. Workstation 1 (xasthur): Development, multimedia, etc. Workstation 2 (king): Mostly for testing purposes. Laptop (kittelsen): The same as Workstation 1 (xasthur). 4.
