I like to write/read fiction (poems, short stories and novels, mostly related to crime/horror/fantasy/drama) and facts (e.g. psychology, philosophy, religion, art, culture, politics, local history and mythology).

I'm into Japanese martial arts as well. I am training Shotokan Karate-do in the dojo of Lura Karateklubb . I'm a 5. kyu (first blue belt, JKA Norway). View a picture of me in my karategi (training uniform). Photo taken by my former Master, Trond Grønnestad (1. dan). My Sensei is Geir Arild Larsen (7. dan). In the 90's I was training Judo (became a 4. kyu, junior orange belt) and even got a silver medal in a championship. Although I'm into empty-hand martial arts I also own a Kung Fu sword, nunchuks, and some other swords and weapons.

I like music: Pop/rock (e.g. Bob Dylan, The Cure, Daniel Johnston, Kent, Led Zeppelin , Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, Sigur Rós, Syd Barrett , and Switchfoot), some metal (e.g. Black Sabbath, Dream Theater, Emperor , Lifelover, Living Sacrifice , Nine Inch Nails, Shining (NOR), Slayer , Tool, and Xasthur). I like some electronica (e.g. The Chemical Brothers, Faithless, Kraftwerk, M83, Massive Attack, Mortiis, The Prodigy, and Underworld). View my favorites band in all genres I'm interested in.

I like movies: giallo, crime, horror, thriller, sci-fi and drama (e.g. A Blade in the Dark, The Beyond, Brokeback Mountain, Cruel Intentions, Donnie Darko, Fearless, Lost in Translation, Profondo Rosso, The Silence of the Lambs, and Suspiria). My favorite TV-series is The X-Files, The 4400, Roswell, Band of Brothers, Star Trek and the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I also love some animes, like Kenichi - The Mightiest Disciple, Naruto, Ninja Scroll, Rurouni Kenshin, Samurai Champloo, Sword of the Stranger, etc.

I like beer (mostly British stout and trappist from Belgium) and whisk(e)y (mostly scottish and irish). I especially prefer scotch single malt whisky from Islay. Occationaly I drink cognac, gin, mead, sherry, vodka and wine as well, although I tend to prefer beer and whisk(e)y. If I had to choose one favorite whisky, I would say Ardbeg Islay single malt. I'm trying to drink responsibly (with varying degree of success). Here's a picture of my bar. I used to smoke, but I've quitted.

Other activities that I find enjoyable includes walking in the forest, swimming in fresh water (not in the ocean), playing chess (I own four different chess-boards), shooting (I own a crosman 1088 airgun with CO₂-powerlet, and an MP-40 machine gun in softgun-format) which you can view here, and probably a lot more.

The following are mentioned because of my fascination/obsession: Animals with silly walks (e.g. penguins, crabs and turtles), watching people arguing - or watching people in love with each other, a dry sense of humor, people with comb overs, paintings/pictures/drawings of desolated and/or abandoded places/people, numbers (e.g. the binary and hexadecimal numeral systems), colors (e.g. black and green) and shapes (e.g. pentagrams, hexagrams and octagrams).
