Introduction to /dev/null

This page contains an introduction to my personal website. And it's all about me.

As you can see, the design is pretty clean and non-flashy. This is by purpose, because I like to keep my code simple. You may take a quick look at browsers known to work.

On every page you'll see the menu in the upper left corner. After a while, you should find the site easy to use. You may listen to this Ogg-file (Audio) (176KB) which is kind of a welcome-message. The site contains the following sections:

  • Who (general information about me, including biography, a note about religion and philsophy, and some information about my personality type),
  • Projects (which contains public projects that I'm a part of, as well as some links to other/personal projects/stuff/pages located on this site that should be updated regularly. This is a quite big and important section, as I'm always into lots of projects),
  • Interests (which covers most of my interests, including some things that I find fascinating.),
  • Friends (with links to their respective personal websites),
  • Computer stuff (which contains screenshots from some of my computers, an ogg vorbis file of me prounoncing the word "Linux" in Norwegian, a link to the src/ directory which contains small hacks by me, network-map, and other information about IRC and my main computer),
  • Fun stuff (where all the fun part is),
  • and finaly the Serious stuff-section (which I recommend everyone to check out).

Further down the page, you'll see a ChangeLog-link. This is a quite important document, because it covers all changes and modifications done to the site. You'll also see when the page was last modified, so you easily can see when the time has come to check for new updates. (index.html always gets updated when something on the site is modified.) I make a major release when there's done a lot of, well, major modifications e.g. to the design, and a sub-major when I feel like something important has happened in my life. Like, 2.1.0 was released when I became a 5. kyu in Shotokan Karate-do (JKA Norway), and that was _very_ important to me. Then again, e.g. a 2.1.1-release would cover mainly minor changes on the site, and e.g. 2.1.6.1 would cover sub-minor changes (like only changing one thing in index.html).

I hope you find my personal website interesting. Please e-mail any comments to me. My e-mail address is available in the Who-section.

That's all folks!
