Concert places

Folken (Norwegian)
I've been on Folken a few times. Here I've seen bands like Gorgoroth, Enslaved, Satyricon and Mayhem.

Tou Scene (Norwegian)
I've only been here once, with Throne of Katarsis playing.

Tribute (Norwegian)
This is where I usually go for black/thrash metal concerts. Here I've seen bands like Tsjuder, Ljå, Carpathian Forest, Gehenna, Vreid, Keep of Kalessin, Khold, Koldbrann and Sarkom.

Viking Fotball (Norwegian)
This is a soccer stadium, where I go for huge concerts with over 20.000 people present. Here I've seen Roger Waters (2006) and Bob Dylan (2008).

A very good CDDB, open and free for all.

Last.fm
A very good site for discovering music, and get statistics of the music you're listening to. I have a profile there.

Morgenbladet (Norwegian)
This is the only newspaper I read regularly. In my opinion it's the best newspaper available in Norway.

Intel
I have an Intel i5 as my main computer and a Pentium M 1,3GHz CPU (with centrino technology) on my laptop. My servers use 2GHz Celeron-CPU's, also Intel.

HTC
My mobile phone is a HTC Desire.

Sony
My TV and Playstation 3 comes from Sony.

Western Digital
My external hard disk drives are USB-HDD's (1x2TB, 1x1TB, 1x250GB) from Western Digital.

Linux Kernel
My favourite operating system kernel. I usually runs it's latest version.

The GNU Operating System
A core element of mostly all distributions of Linux, hence the name "GNU/Linux".

Slackware Linux
My favourite distribution of Linux, which I run on most of my computers.

SLAX
My favourite live distribution, based on Slackware Linux. It takes less than 200MB, and fits very well on my USB flash drive.

Debian GNU/Linux
If it wasn't for the existens of Slackware Linux - I would probably run Debian GNU/Linux. The hosting server of this site runs Debian GNU/Linux.

OpenBSD
A very good variant of BSD. Free, fast and secure.

FreeBSD
Another good variant of BSD.

Fedora Core
One of the better (so-called) userfriendly distributions of Linux.

GNU Hurd
The operating system kernel developed by GNU.

Audacious
A very good multimedia player for UNIX-systems.

Apache HTTP-server
My favourite HTTP-server. It's open source, and quite stable and secure.

BZFlag
One of few games I play, though I'm not good at it.

cdparanoia
A very good a Compact Disc Digital Audio (CDDA) extraction tool.

cdrecord
A quite good CD-recording software with CLI-interface.

GNU Compiler Collection
The compiler I use. Supports C/C++, Java and Fortran, among others.

The GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP).
From the site: "It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring."

GkrellM
From the site: "GKrellM is a single process stack of system monitors".

GNU nano
The text-editor I usually prefer.

Firefox
The web-browser I'm using for X11.

Fluxbox
One of my favourite windowmanager for X.

Irssi
My favorite IRC-client. Supports Perl-scripts. :)

LibreOffice
The office-suite I use and recommend.

Lynx
My favourite text-based web-browser.

MPlayer
A very good movie player for UNIX-systems. Supports all formats I've tried.

Ogg Vorbis
My favourite open audio encoding and streaming software.

OpenSSH
My favourite remote access application.

Practical Extraction and Report Language
Perl is my favourite programming language.

SoundTracker
My favourite music tracker, for X/GTK+.

The XOrg Server
A very good open source implementation of X11.

Xpdf
A very plain and simple pdf-viewer for X.

xterm
My favourite terminal emulator for X.
